Cayuga’s natural landscape divides the camp property into two separate campuses. This unique feature distinguishes Cayuga from other traditional summer camps. Each campus is located on opposite sides of the lake and operates self-sufficiently. With two separate campuses, we can provide two distinct programs that are geared toward the different age groups on each campus.
The camper population is comprised of 125-135 girls and 125-135 boys. This includes children entering 1st through 8th grade who are 13 years old and younger. The program on Junior Campus is geared to the interests of this younger age group, whereas the Teen Campus program focuses on the interests of teenagers. Note: If you’re entering 8th grade and 13 years old before camp, you have the option to reside on either campus.
With two small campuses, you’ll find our camper population to be just the right size. We’re large enough to provide a challenging and varied activity program that caters to every age group. At the same time, we’re small enough for our staff to get to know your child on a more personal level. Operating two separate campuses, instead of one large camp, maintains the family atmosphere that characterizes Camp Cayuga. We’re just the right size!
Three days a week we follow a ‘Late Breakfast’ schedule. On these days we sleep-in an extra 50 minutes!
The regular schedule includes 7 periods each day. The first period is a ‘sign-up’ period for your electives (unless you’re a Junior). Each activity period is about 1 hour that includes 10-minute travel time between activities. We meet at flagpole twice a day for flag lowering & raising. Evening Activities begin at 7:45pm. There’s a different evening activity each night of the week!
